We are looking for people in the following positions: Nurse Our Nurses are responsible for dispensing the proper dose of medication to each patient as prescribed by the Medical Director or Clinical Physician. Ensures accountability in medication. Assists in the screening of patients. Keeps in close contact with counselors regarding patients' progress. Our Nurses must be licensed as a LPN or RN in the particular state. Experience and understanding of chemical addiction are a plus. POSITION SUMMARY: The Nurse will be responsible for dispensing the proper dose of medication to each patient as prescribed by the Medical Director or Clinical Physician. Ensures accountability in medication. Assists in the screening of patients. Keeps in close contact with counselors regarding patients progress. Report to the Medical Director. Program Director, and Clinical Director. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Dispensing of methadone as prescribed by the Medical Director or Clinical Physician. 2. Dispensing of any other medications (e.g. LAAM, Antabuse, Narcan), as prescribed by the Medical Director or Clinical Physician. 3. Assess patients appropriateness for dosing. 4. Collection of urine specimens, filing of contract urines (quantity specified per state/clinic regulations), providing a copy of contract urines and bloodwork to Accounts Receivable for billing, record urine results in patients chart. Provide a copy of urine results to patients primary counselor. 5. Responsible for maintenance of all medical supplies inventories as needed. 6. Be willing to learn the art of blood drawing and achieve certification as a phlebotomist. 7. Responsible for processing new cardexes for admits, transfers, and courtesy dosing patients. Retrieve re-admit cardex from patient files if returned within six (6) months from discharge. 8. Responsible for making-up courtesy and vacation dose packages. 9. Participates in the training of new nurses. 10. Ensures implementation of medical quality health standards. 11. Maintains accurate patient dosing records as well as daily reconciliation and accountability of medication inventory as dispensed from total stock on hand. 12. Plans and implements changes necessary for improved functioning of clinic. 13. Attends weekly staff meetings, as well as outside seminars and training. 14. Makes an effort to remain in contact (weekly) with other personnel in the nursing department as to relevant program/patient changes. 15. Maintain and help with a chart monitoring system. 16. Participates in community and public relations activities, including advertising and marketing. 17. Collects patient program fees as necessary while in clinic. 18. Is able to efficiently use a computer. 19. Hold a basic understand of drug/alcohol abuse and addiction. 20. Able to develop professional, helpful and effective relationship with patients. 21. Able to function as a team-member, working in conjunction with all other employees in a helpful, positive manner. 22. Ability to project a positive and professional image to the community, in representation of the clinic. 23. Participates in and/or helps perform, schedule, or attend monthly Clinic In-service Trainings. 24. Ensure clinic meets all accreditation standards related to Medical, Health, and Safety Issues; and other areas as assigned. 25. Other duties as assigned by Supervisory Staff. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed as a LPN or RN in the State of employment. Experience and understanding of chemical addiction is preferable. EQUIPMENT REQUIRED: Dosing graduates, centrifuge, phlebotomy equipment, monitoring equipment for physical assessment, test strips, breath monitors, and other medical equipment as needed. Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor Our Counselors assist patients in identifying, maximizing and relating their strengths to appropriate social, educational (academic and vocation) and occupational goals. To help patients prepare and adjust to a drug free existence. To offer assistance (emotional and physical) in problematic issues. Counselors will be responsible to the Clinical Manager for provision of services to assigned patients and will adhere to schedules, established program policies and procedures and applicable Federal regulations. Our Counselors must have their Bachelors degree with experience with substance abuse patients or two (2) years experience as a certified counselor working with substance abuse patients. They must be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge and understanding of human behavior to show potential for rehabilitating drug dependent patients. Must have good skills in both verbal and written communications. Must have sufficient knowledge of the substance abuse population, treatment planning and the field of human social services to work toward the rehabilitation of the patient community. POSITION SUMMARY: To assist patients in identifying, maximizing, and relating their strengths to appropriate social, educational (academic and vocation), and occupational goals. To help patients prepare and adjust to a drug free existence. To offer assistance (emotional and physical) in problematic issues. Counselors will be responsible to the Clinical Director for provision of services to assigned patients and adherence to schedules, established program policies and procedures, and applicable Federal regulations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Conduct alcohol and drug abuse-counseling sessions on regular monthly bases, or an individual treatment plan. 2. Orient patients to the programs operation and procedure. 3. Collect available social, educational, economic, and vocational information which can be used in developing an assessment. 4. Develop within thirty (30) days of entry, a formal treatment plan of goals. 5. Implement patient treatment plan and/or revise treatment plans as appropriate and record a review of patients progress according to program policy. 6. Maintain patient records that are complete, comprehensive and well organized, and submit records for periodic review as requested by supervisory staff. 7. Document all patient contacts. If other staff members provide services to patient, the assigned counselor is responsible to see that such contacts are documented in patients chart. 8. Make appropriate referrals through case-management services; and perform necessary follow-up. 9. Advise Clinical Director of problems encountered with caseload management and schedules. 10. Attend conferences, meetings and training programs as directed. 11. Attend weekly staff meetings prepared to discuss individual patient caseload. 12. Hold a basic understanding of alcohol/drug abuse and addiction. Additionally, keep up-dated on current drug abuse and treatment information. 13. Provide intake/readmission services, including several weeks of supportive follow-up counseling for new patients until their assignment to primary counselor. 14. Provide follow-up calls/contact to all discharging patients for at least 90 days. 15. Provide crisis intervention/supportive services to patients assigned to other counselors when their primary counselor is unavailable. 16. Provide interagency reports/documentation required for third party reimbursement, criminal justice proceedings, supplemental income assessments, emergency services, and other specialized treatment needs of patients. 17. Perform individual and peer file reviews on a monthly basis for the purposes of quality control. 18. Participates in community and public relations activities, including advertising and marketing. 19. Involvement in a community activity, association or club that is related to substance abuse. 20. Collects patient program fees as necessary while in clinic. 21. Is able to efficiently use a computer. 22. Able to develop professional, helpful and effective relationship with patients. 23. Able to function as a team-member, working in conjunction with all other employees in a helpful, positive manner. 24. Ability to project a positive and professional image to the community, in representation of the clinic. 25. Participates in and/or helps perform, schedule, or attend monthly Clinic In-service Trainings. 26. Ensure clinic meets all accreditation standards, and completes assigned activities in order to achieve this. 27. Other duties assigned by Supervisory Staff. Medical Director Our Medical Directors carry out medical policies and procedures affecting the treatment of all patients throughout the treatment process. Our Medical Directors must have the active license with the state controlled substance organization and a Federal DEA certificate. Experience in the field of chemical dependency is preferable but not mandatory. Medical Directors must have excellent patient assessment and diagnostic skills.
