Our primary focus is the treatment of opiate addiction. We treat individuals addicted to street opiates, mainly heroin, as well as prescription opiates which are primarily opiate-based pain medications such as OxyContin, Vicodin, Lortab, Morphine, etc. We treat opiate addiction with counseling and medication. We use two medications, methadone and buprenorphine. Counseling is provided to individuals, families and groups. These treatment modalities are paramount to maintaining a healthy life. We are primarily a patient fee based clinic, that is, we receive very minimal state or federal funding so we depend upon the patient to pay fees associated with treatment. In some states, however, we do receive funding so please check with the individual program to determine if treatment assistance is available.
Because we are an outpatient clinic, we believe we can allow our patients to live a normal family life and maintain gainful employment. In order to be admitted to our narcotic treatment programs you must be 18 years old and, in most cases, have been abusing opiates at least one year. Admission to the narcotic treatment program is voluntary and requires a physical exam and complete bio-psychosocial assessment. Once the patient has been admitted to the program they will begin on an initial medication level and, as needed, the medication will be adjusted to the level at which they are no longer having withdrawal symptoms or cravings. Usually a therapeutic level will be achieved within two weeks. Counseling is an important and critical part of treatment. We offer one-on-one counseling as well as family and group counseling. Center for Behavioral Health does not have one treatment philosophy, but rather aims to provide counselors with varying backgrounds that patients can work with to find the right fit. All of our counselors are involved in continuing education and training that enhances their level of therapeutic effectiveness. All Center for Behavioral Health locations are licensed by federal and state agencies and all are accredited. Each narcotic treatment program is different due to the staff make up, however, the patient will find similar policies and procedures and patient-friendly staff at each location. We work very hard to provide a level of patient service that far exceeds the industry standard. Included in this is a requirement that the entire staff be included in community outreach to educate outside agencies on methadone and also to educate themselves on community services available which could be used by our patients. |
